Halloween Costume: School Girl

    1                                  2                                                  3

The school girl costume is one that is done by many. They usually over do it and make it look sexier than it really needs to be. As shown up above, the school girl look has come a long way. From Taylor Swift, to Cher from Clueless, and even Lea Michele's character Rachel Berry on Glee. Believe me when I say this the easiest look to recreate for less and you'll look classy and trashy.

Look down below for my renditions and click the link for product prices! The first look is your typical and stereotypical school girl costume, while the second look is more chic. Enjoy!

Halloween Couple Costumes

From L to R: Alessandra Ambrosio and Jamie Mazur, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough, Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey

It's that time of year again! Halloween has come among us again. With Halloween comes all sorts of costumes. The fun and quirky such as, Mario or Luigi. The overly sexual costumes such as a playboy bunny or a nurse. Then there's the couple costumes, yes they get their own category. Couple costumes can always be really cute and adorable and sometimes really bad.

During this time, we always see celebrity couples dress up as different pop culture characters (my personal favorite is the Bonnie and Clyde worn by Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough). So obviously ladies, when we see these costumes we definitely get inspired and want our beau to dress up with us! So down below I have narrowed down Top 8 Costumes for you and your partner to wear to a Halloween party, to give out candy, or just to dress up for fun!

All of these costumes can be wearable for best friends or same sex couples, enjoy!

1. Morticia and Gomez Addams

Feeling especially spooky that night, dress up as everyone's favorite Halloween couple, Morticia and Gomez from the Addams family.

For Morticia: If you so happen to have a black maxi dress, that's absolutely perfect! Add a pair of lace gloves or if you so happen to have a lace black kimono, that works too. Finish the look off by parting your hair down the middle and straighten it, then go bold with your makeup by doing a really dark smokey eye and a oxblood lipstick, don't forget to contour your cheeks!

For Gomez: Get yourself a striped black and grey suit, with a white button-up shirt. Add a small bow-tie and if you don't already have a mustache, ask your Morticia to help you draw one on! Don't forget to slick back your hair!

Bonus Points: If you're both pretty pale and have other relatives to complete the Addams family trio. Also, Morticia, during the night cut a rose or two.

2. Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass

If you can get your beau to dress up as Chuck Bass and you dress up as Blair Waldorf, you better love him for forever and even longer than that. This is one costume I would love to see all couples try. Believe me when I say you don't need to have your clothes be as expensive as their's, but definitely dress the best you can.

For Blair Waldorf, ladies rock your most classiest, elegant dress you own and a stunning pair of heels to match. Finish the look off with some fabulous jewelry and if you're feeling especially like Blair, rock an initial necklace, curl your hair, and some lipstick of your choice.

For Chuck Bass, men go all out with this look. Put on a nice, crisp button-up shirt, a suit jacket, suit pants, bow tie or tie (whatever you're feeling), and some dress shoes. Also, slick back your hair for the full Chuck appearance.

Bonus Points: If your boyfriend says "I'm Chuck Bass" everywhere you go.

3. Bonnie and Clyde

By now, everyone has heard of the famous couple, Bonnie and Clyde. If you and your partner are feeling quite dangerous (not really) that night, this is the perfect costume for you.

For Bonnie, go completely 20's and put on your best dress and add some Mary-Jane heels. Finish the look off with curled hair, red lipstick, and a nice hat.

For Clyde, keep the 20's theme coming. Put on a very nice suit, a simple tie, and a fedora.

Bonus Points: If during some part of the night, you just yell "Don't mess with Bonnie and Clyde!"

4. Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan

Is your beau as madly in love with you, as Jay Gatsby was with Daisy? Well stay tuned for an inspired look if he is.

For Daisy, think 1920's flapper, so go all out with the glitz and glamour. Start the look off by putting on a bedazzled shift dress, some nude Mary-Janes, and a bold, glittery headband. Don't forget the jewelry that's the most important part. Layer on pearls, diamonds, your finest jewelry.

For Jay, put on your best suit, with a nice button-up shirt, dress pants, and shoes.

Bonus Points: If you host a really amazing party and invite everyone, just don't tell everyone who you are and let them figure it out. Also, hold a wine glass in the air to show everyone how amazing you are.

5. Mickey and Minnie Mouse

Everyone's favorite couple, the lovely Mickey and Minnie. They were basically the start of couples (forget I said that.)

For Minnie: Put on a red and white polka-dot dress, with some yellow pumps (or sneakers). Don't forget your white gloves and add a red hat if you want to go all out.

For Mickey: Guys, please don't go shirtless like Mickey does, I beg of you. Put on a simple black tee shirt, some red pants, yellow sneakers (if you just so happen to have them), and obviously don't forget your white gloves.

For Mickey and Minnie: Don't forget your ears, those are crucial!

6. Sandy Olson and Danny Zucco

My favorite movie couple, the beautiful Sandy Olson and handsome Danny Zucco. This costume will be easily recognized by everyone.

For Sandy: Grab a black off-the-shoulder crop top (or just a crop top in general) or just a black tee shirt, some leather-like pants (if you have disco pants, use them!), and some red wedges. Finish the look off by curling your hair like crazy and add some mascara and red lipstick.

For Danny: Put on a simple black tee shirt, some black pants, and a pair of Converse. Grease is the word, so slick your hair back completely and keep a comb just in handy.

Bonus Points: Throughout the night, you and your beau just start randomly singing 'You're The One I Want' and if you just casually say "Tell me about it stud".

7. Batman and Catwoman

Now, I'm not sure if I'm the only one who's a little confused if Batman and Catwoman are a couple. Nonetheless, this is a very sexy costume that anyone would know who you were.

For Catwoman: Put on your sleekest, skinniest black clothing and don't forget your heeled boots (or all black converse). Finish the look off with some cat ears, goggles, and a little lipstick.

For Batman: Like your catwoman, put on all black clothing and of course don't forget your batman mask. Also add some gloves if you get chilly, you too catwoman!

Bonus Points: If you just so happen to want to save people that night, by all means, I mean you are Batman and Catwoman.

8. Barbie and Ken

Everyone knows about Barbie and Ken and their relationship. Obviously the photo up above shows the two dolls from the Toy Story movie but you can do the one from the past.

For Barbie: If you so happen to have some 80's workout gear, that's absolutely perfect. But if you don't just improvise with a bold color tank top, some leggings to match, a belt, leg warmers, and some sneakers. Don't forget to add some pink lipstick if you really want to get that Barbie look.

For Ken: This is a very bold look, so you better be up for the challenge. Start off by grabbing a very, very bold button-up shirt, but the buttons unbuttoned. Add some shorts, whatever color you like and finish the look off with a nice neck tie and some sneakers. Don't forget to sleek your hair back.

Bonus Points: If you guys walk and talk like dolls for the rest of the night and complement each other on what you're wearing from time to time.

Thanks so much for reading! If you and your partner dress up as any of these costumes or any other costumes, please email them to me at stylebydesign@gmail.com! Remember to be safe and have fun, don't take this night so serious!

12 Geek Chic Halloween Costumes

1                                      2                                  3

Halloween is the one time of year you can dress as some of your favorite characters from TV shows, movies, and comic books and not get weird looks from your peers. So down below, I have counted down some of the most popular geek costumes. So if you're looking for some major inspiration, read down below, and let your geek flag fly! I hope you enjoy!

1. Poison Ivy

1                                        2                                        3

This is one costume that everyone will know exactly who you are. Everyone's heard of Poison Ivy (nope, not the plant) but the sexy, redhead villain from the Batman comics.

To get her look put on a form-fitting green dress, some green tights, and green pumps. Finish the look off with some temporary red hair dye, green and gold eyeshadow, and red lipstick.

2. Lara Croft

                1                                      2                                     3

Everyone has heard of the legendary Lara Croft, she kicks butt and looks amazing doing it. She has even been portrayed in movies by the amazing Angelina Jolie.

Lara's look is really simple and pretty easy to wear. Grab a black tank top, some army green shorts, knee-high combat boots, a gun holster, and some toy guns (such as airsoft), we don't want anyone getting hurt.

3. Hermione Granger

            1                                               2                               3

Hermione Granger is one of the most popular girls among the geek culture. She's best known of course for playing a sassy wizard in the Harry Potter trilogy.

For her look grab a grey sweater, button-up white top, a stripe tie (if you can find one in red and yellow), a grey skirt, some black tights, and Mary-Janes. Of course don't forget your wand!

4. Wonder Woman

           1                                     2                               3                            4

Wonder Woman is the most known female superhero and why not? She's incredibly beautiful and strong and is an amazon.

Now you don't need to go all out for this look, go for something more like a red peplum tank, blue skinny jeans, red boots (if you can find them), a star belt, gold earrings and a gold star necklace.

5. Harley Quinn

             1                                   2                               3                            4

Harley Quinn is one of the most known female villains in the comic book world. She's known for loving and standing by Mr. J or the Joker and avenging Batman for his death. All in all though, Harley still manages to keep a pretty cool looking style.

Start off by putting on a red or black bustier. Then grab yourself a pair of black and red pants (they do sell these!) and then finish the look off by putting a pair of thigh-high black boots. Also add a choker and any other spike accessories you may own.

For the makeup and hair, start off by putting on a ton of black eyeshadow (think Taylor Momsen) then put on some red lipstick. For your hair, dip dye one end red and the other black.

6. Ramona Flowers

1                                                    2                                         3

Ramona Flowers is the really cool and bright colored hair protagonist in the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World series. She's known to be sarcastic, but loving and of course she has her 7 deadly exes.

Ramona's look is a very fun and bright look to try. Start off by grabbing a parka, then grab a hoodie and your favorite band tee, finish the look off with some bright shorts, tights, knee-high boots, goggles, fingerless gloves, and of course hair dye (temporary of course).

7. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

1                                                         2

What can get more Halloween-y than dressing up as a vampire slayer? Throughout the show Buffy showed some pretty amazing outfits, while slaying vampires of course.

For Buffy's look, start off with a simple trench coat, then add a crop top, a mini skirt, and some platform boots. Of course, don't forget your stake, I mean it is Halloween anyway, who knows when a vampire just might pop up.

8. Velma Dinkley and Daphne Blake

Velma and Daphne are two of the most popular female characters in TV cartoon history. Daphne's of course known for her looks and stylish outfits, while Velma's more know for her smarts and of course "Jinkies!" As well as her loss of her glasses.

For Velma's look start off with an orange sweatshirt and a red skirt, finish the look off with some orange knee-high socks and red Mary-Janes. Of course don't forget or lose your glasses!

For Daphne's look, start off with her signature purple dress. Then add pink knee-high socks or some pink tights (totally optionally). Lastly, add some purple flats, a purple headband, and of course her green scarf.

9. Sailor Moon or Serena

1                                   2                                        3

If you have not heard of Sailor Moon, shame on you! Sailor Moon was a TV show about a young girl named Serena, who was quite ditzy but was actually the ruler of the moon.

Serena has had many signature attires, such as her school girl outfit, sailor moon transformation outfit, and her pink dress from when she was younger on the moon.

For Serena's school girl look, start off with a white button-up shirt, then add a blue cardigan and red bow tie. Finish the look off with a blue skirt and some red converse. If you want to add a little sailor moon in there, add some white gloves and put your hair into two long ponytails.

10. Jessica Rabbit

    1                                                2                                         3

Jessica Rabbit is the most scandalous cartoon, but she promises she was just drawn that way. She is most known for being the wife of Roger Rabbit, as well as her super sultry attire. She is always seen to be wearing a bedazzled red/pink dress, long purple gloves, red pumps, and her long red hair covering an eye and over one shoulder.

Your look doesn't have to be as sultry as her's, but if you want feel free to, it's Halloween. This look can be simplified by just a bedazzled bodycon dress with some red pumps. Grab yourself some purple gloves and put your hair over to one shoulder. If you're really feeling like Jessica, dye your hair temporary red and put on some purple eyeshadow and red lipstick.

11. Cosima Niehaus from Orphan Black

1                                               2                                             3

Cosima Niehaus is the incredibly smart and stylish clone from the new show Orphan Black. She's got an amazing style that is a mixture of eclectic and bohemian.

For her look start off with a dark red bodycon dress. Then add some lace tights and a skull scarf. Finish the look off with her signature glasses and loads of bracelets. If you're feeling real daring, dread your hair for the full Cosima look.

12. Abby Scuito from NCIS

             1                                                2                                             3

Have you ever wanted to dress up as a goth for Halloween, but had no idea what to wear. Worry no more and check out your friendly goth from NCIS, Abby Scuito! Abby's well known for her smarts, as well as her dark and gothic fashion.

To achieve Abby's look, start off by getting yourself a white lab coat or blazer, whatever you have. Then add a spiked choker (black of course). Put on your favorite LBD and add some fishnet tights (ripped would be the best) and then put on chunky boots or Dr. Martens. Add other accessories such as a watch or spiked bracelet.

For the makeup and hair, pull your hair into two side pigtails and give yourself some Bettie Page bangs. For the makeup, rim your eye with dark black eyeliner, on the top and bottom and then put on some red, black, or oxblood lipstick.
